Join us for a challenging coastal hike between Teignmouth to Torquay! You'll take a train to Teignmouth then a short ferry to Shaldon (please bring £2 in cash), from which you'll hike for 12 miles up and down the rugged South West coast path taking in the incredible views. Good practice for the 30 mile Torquay to Exeter challenge in Term 3! Lengths and ratings: Walk A (Teignmouth to Torquay): distance-12 miles (less moderate), terrain-extreme! (very steep and possibly very muddy and slippery coast path, wear suitable strong footwear) Please purchase an off-peak return to Torquay for the following times: - From Exeter St. Davids, the 09:01 train, arrive to the station for 08:51 We aim to return to Exeter by 18:30. Before the walk: Make sure to bring a packed lunch and at least 2 bottles of water, we are unable to stop en-route for food or other supplies. Remember to wear strong, sturdy hiking boots or shoes. A waterproof layer and sunscreen is also recommended, as well as an extra sweater or hat for warmth. If you have any medical conditions incl. severe allergies please let our president Jake know, and bring any medication which you may need.
