What are you doing this Valentine's Day!? We kindly ask you to arrive at the venue between 5.15-5.35, as you need to sign in with our team, be provided the materials and have the event logistics explained to you. You will tell the team which contact method you would like to be contacted by: text, email or Instagram DM. The event will begin at 5.45pm sharp so you need to be inside beforehand. The venue is private hired and there will be a bar with table service available for you to buy drinks throughout the evening - there are deals on cocktails, spirits and beer/cider. Your dates will last around 5 minutes long and there will be a three 10 minute breaks. The event should finish around 8.30pm where you're more than welcome to stay the venue as the general public come in. You will be provided with a date rating sheet, whereby you can 'like' up to 10 other date pairs (a like based on whether you felt you had a connection and would like to exchange contact details). If they liked you back, you will match and preferred contact method shared the following day. Female pairs will stay seated during the dates, whereas male pairs will move around the circuit of tables. Each female pair will be allocated a number, each male pair will be allocated a letter or combination of letters. Your rating sheets will have the opposite gendered letters or numbers, i.e. men will have a list of numbers, women will have a list of letters. You can write any comments to help you remember the dates and we advise you to come up with a rating system for your date (remember, you're not just rating physically appearance, you're rating the quality of the connection and whether you'd like to see them again). It is essential that you write any comments, make your ratings and ticks by the correct number or letter corresponding to the person you're dating. You will hand in your rating sheet at the end of the event and your matches will be collated and sent to you the next day. Finally, since you are meeting a number of various people of different ages, occupations, views and backgrounds (some of whom you may not normally go for in the dating pool) - please be respectful. A: Yes, for any of our event you can come with a friend. If you’re female attending an event, you can request to be seated on the same table with your friend – though there are limited tables of this type, so you are advised to arrive slightly earlier if you want to be sat with your friend whilst on your dates. You can also request to be seated on tables next to each-other, since women stay seated during the dates, we can seat you next to your friend on separate but nearby tables so they’re always in view, again – to ensure this is accommodated for, please don’t be late. If you are male, you can come with a friend also. Though for solo events (any event is a solo event unless it is specified that is a Double Dates event), it is not possible to be always with your friend during the dates. You’d do dates individually and catch up during the breaks and whilst mingling before and after the event. Q: How do the double dates work in terms of matches? A: At our doubles events, you’re treated as a pair for the event – so opposite gendered daters would tick you both and vice versa, it is not possible to only tick one of a pair. You share a sheet and comment, rate and judge your dates together, so chose carefully with your ticks. If the other pair have ticked you back and you’ve chosen to tick them, this constitutes a match and you’ll be sent both of the other pairs contact details to get in touch with the next day. For example, if you did happen to only get along with one of a pair, you can decide to only get in touch with that person. Q: I want to come but I am really nervous, how can I put my mind at ease? A: We hear this a lot – however everyone who has come to our events has gotten into the swing of the event relatively quickly. A lot of people say that when they arrived they were really nervous, but once they’d done a few dates and realised it isn’t as daunting as it first seems, they begin to enjoy themselves. You can check out our testimonials videos on Instagram to see how other daters found the event. It is a great way to boost your confidence dating, particularly is you’re inexperienced, and it’s a great way to make new friends, either romantically or not. Q: I can’t make the date for the event that I want to go to, how do I find out about the next one? A: The best thing to do is to follow us on Instagram (which is our primary social media) or to join our mailing list by going to www.linktr.ee/ncldates and registering interest. We’d then email you our schedule when new dates are released. Q: How often are your events? Q: Events run roughly every 3-5 weeks for each category, though sometimes more regularly depending on popularity. Q: What are my chances of meeting somebody at the event? A: Our daters received an average of 3.5 matches per person, sometimes a lot a higher depending on how many people you chose to tick. This means you’ve usually got a handful of people who you’ve already established a mutual connection and attraction with that you can contact to arrange a second date or to converse further. Q: How do you ensure everyone is safe at the event? A: This is always a female member of staff on duty, whom you can approach if you have any issues. Our staff are walking around and visible during the dates, you can discreetly catch our attention or let us know during breaks if somebody has made you feel uncomfortable. All of our venues that we work with are ‘Ask Angela’ trained and all have door security. We also reserve the right to ask to see your ID at any event if we have reason to do, the door/entry staff of the venue may also request to see your ID, if you are lucky enough to look under 25. We’re always looking to improve our safety procedures so if you have any ideas please let us know. Q: How do the rating sheets work? A: You will be provided with a date rating sheet, whereby you can 'like' other daters (a like based on whether you felt you had a connection and would like to exchange contact details). If they liked you back, you will match and your preferred contact method shared the following day. You will input your preferred method of contact on your date rating sheet. Each woman will be allocated a number, each man will be allocated a letter.
