Pirates is one of the most popular Gilbert and Sullivan operas. it follows Frederic, a young man freshly free from his indentures at 21 years of age. Previously apprenticed to a band of big-hearted pirates, so great is his sense of duty that he feels it necessary to exterminate his fellow comrades in atonement. But when the pirates seize the daughters of a nearby major general to whom Frederic has taken a liking, events spiral rapidly out of control...
