The Electric Banana (Behind The Loft)

About

A night of revelry and foot stomping entertainment, all for a great cause. So Colin & cohorts are raising money for two charities which are very close to their hearts which are - Cancer Research & the stroke association This Event will feature the following acts: The Jamestown Brothers - The Jamestown Brothers are a high energy, foot stomping original indie-folk band from Somerset, UK. Formed in 2018 by singer-songwriter Colin Batchelor, who had the idea to create a large ‘Springsteen’ type band with celtic folk and country influences reminiscent of The Pogues and The Men They Couldn’t Hang. The band’s line-up of guitars, trumpet, keyboards, bass, drums, fiddle, recorder, and saxophone creates a huge sound. The band’s songs capture the spirit of their folk-rock style and demonstrate their skill at creating enduring melodies and approachable lyrics. Their music connects with listeners and has an impact, whether it's through upbeat anthems or moving ballads. Their songs and melodies are complimented with lyrics deeply rooted in the rich history and social tapestry of Great Britain and Ireland. 2019 saw the release of their debut EP Singing for our Supper, with its rousing challenge to ‘Raise your Glass to the Union Man’, taken from Everybody Take a Drink, a song that celebrates the workers who built the nation’s wealth and backbone. This was swiftly followed in August 2020 with their acclaimed album Rebels, Rogues & Regrets. Bookended by rousing historical pieces, Cut ‘Em Down tells the story of the Peterloo Massacre and Long Walk Home is a call to join the spirit of the Jarrow March. Ribble - Folk duo two Northern men, a fiddle, a guitar, and a large beard. So far, so what? Well, add in a 90s drum synth, some mighty arrangements of meaty fiddle tunes, some songs, some wrong turns, battle scars earned busking the streets of Salisbury, a barrowload of inane banter and the feeling that your mad rum-soaked uncle is roaring at you to dance on the tables, then you’re getting close to what Ribble offer. You get a free smile with every gig or your money back (terms and conditions apply). www.ribblemusic.co.uk Griff - comedian Dave Alfred - acoustic Hosted by trevor sealey from apple radio Plus some special dancing guests
