About

DATE SUBJECT TO CHANGE (30th Jan or 6th Feb) After graduating from Cardiff University, Nick Russill became an Exploration Geologist in the Australian outback, specialising in copper and gold projects. In 1992, he co-founded TerraDat Geophysics, now a leading European subsurface mapping company. Passionate about mountain and ocean-based sports, he co-founded top specialist weather websites in 1996, including Snow-Forecast.com, Surf-Forecast.com, Tide-Forecast.com, and most importantly Mountain-Forecast.com. With over 65 million users annually (including our trip leaders), these platforms aim to enhance outdoor appreciation and encourage responsible travel in the face of climate change. Recognised as the 'Young Welsh Entrepreneur of the Year' in 1993, he continues to inspire the next generation through talks. As the Royal Society Entrepreneur in Residence at Exeter University, he contributed to the UK's first Engineering and Entrepreneurship degree course. Hear him talk about how he turned his love of the outdoors into his profession.
