Sing Hong Lee - Resolving the Mystery of Violin Virtuosity

A special solo virtuosic 'Paganini' violin concert. Niccolò Paganini is the most celebrated violin virtuoso of his time, characterised by his unmatched violin techniques. Almost 200 years after his death, there have been many attempts to play his music as it was originally played. However, there are only very few violinists who can actually play with the original Paganini setup - without using the shoulder rest and the chin rest - both of which were not invented at that time. This concert will be played with this in mind. It will not only feature pieces by Paganini, but also other virtuosic music, such as those composed by both Wieniawski and Ysayë, as well as other beautiful pieces of music.
