About

Set in the late 1990s, this debut feature from Scottish director Charlotte Wells depicts a dramatic and sombre narrative about an 11-year-old Sophie (Frankie Corio) and her troubled 30-year-old Scottish father Calum (Paul Mescal) as they embark on a summer holiday to Turkey, to try and spend some rare bonding time together. It is on this holiday that Sophie starts to mature, learning much about herself, as her father tries to form a stronger connection with her, while he silently struggles with his own mental health.
