About

On Monday April 22nd at 6pm in the Ui Chadhain Theatre, SOFIA welcomes Ambassador Anne Anderson to speak with SOFIA about her experience working at the highest levels of diplomacy. Previously serving as Ambassador to the US, EU, UN and France, Anne Anderson is highest ranked female diplomat in Ireland's history, and the first woman to serve as ambassador the four prestigious posts. During her time in Irish diplomacy, Anne had first-hand experience in advancing Ireland's interests on the world stage, working on everything from trade and investment, to cultural and diaspora policy. Ambassador Anderson retired from the Department of Foreign Affairs in 2017 after decades of distinguished public service. Throughout the fireside chat, Anne will share insights into the world of diplomacy, reflect on her long and illustrious career in foreign service, and detail the behind-the-scenes work of Ireland's senior-most ambassadorial postings. There will also be an exclusive Q&A with members of the audience.
