Pichwai paintings, traditionally, were textiles that were hung behind the idols. These religious textiles are native to the Shrinathji temple of Nathdwara in Rajasthan. They are hung behind the idol of Shrinathji, a child form of Krishna, who is the nucleus of Pushtimarg worship. Pichwais depict various scenes from the life of Krishna.
