About

"Mr Bewlay has a musical theatre background, and it shows! You're gonna love it!" - Amy Lame, BBC 6 Music "So many influences. Brimming with quality I absolutely love it!" - Charlie Ashcroft, Amazing Radio “With an ear for good grooves and a lot of chutzpah… what he has is a take on the absurd with a theatrical flourish.” - Mark Ray, Louder Than War "Incredibly imaginative, richly rewarding and sophisticated, a pop star in the making!" - Adam Walton, BBC Radio Wales ~ The UK Art Pop extraordinaire Mr Bewlay has established himself as the paramount voice for the unorthodox. His performances and mannerisms have made him a controversial figure in the South West music scene, with raucous stage shows and wildly delirious song lyrics. However his achievements continue to grow with recent support from the likes of BBC 6 Music and Absolute Radio. Beginning his musical career under the mentorship of the Forte Project, Bewlay has pushed himself into releasing his ‘Reason’ Trilogy which saw him expand his sound with the addition of synth-heavy, funk grooves and sweet retro-inspired pop hits. The second instalment of the trilogy ‘Black Reason’ brings a post-punk aesthetic with sarcastic lyrics and aggressive guitar driven songs. His repertoire continues to grow having been Huw Stephens Artist of the Week, a firm favourite of Twitch star Tim Senna and exalted on magazines such as God is in the TV and Louder Than War. Mr Bewlay has recently completed a UK Tour having played in cities such as London, Glasgow & Liverpool. With a breadth of sound ranging from retro-spiced pop, to quiet reflective solo pieces, Bewlay’s unpredictability is well established. With a penchant for the extreme and an unyielding determination, Bewlay continues to intrigue, confuse and beguile all that come across him. FFO: David Bowie, St Vincent and Parquet Courts, Be it Mista, Misses or King or Queen, they all fall under Bewlay’s everything. ~ Support: Rebecca Hurn & Generation Feral
