John Hicks 149 - UNDER PRESSURE - Art Exhibition

John Hicks 149 is a local artist/designer and teacher. This exhibition is part of a series of oil paintings and digital images based on a mental health theme. Many of the canvases displayed are over a metre in diameter, described as intense and powerful, thought provoking and cathartic to view as an exhibition; well worth a visit for art enthusiasts and for those interested in mental health, and those wanting to support Mind (the mental health charity). The exhibition runs upstairs in the Dahl Gallery at the Norwegian Church Arts centre, Cardiff Bay from Monday 29th of January until Sunday 25th of February. Proceeds from the sale of John’s limited edition, signed A4 prints/posters (@ £20 each) or postcards (@ £2 each) will be donated to Mind, the mental health charity. They will be available to buy at the Norwegian Church Arts Centre café or from John himself on Saturday afternoons during the exhibition. John has worked for 30 years as a secondary schoolteacher, currently teaching Art and Photography at Newport High School. He has been making Art his whole life and has recently exhibited work at Ty Turner (Penarth), Blackwater Gallery (Cardiff), Life: full colour (Caernarfon) and John has a digital solo exhibition at Influx Gallery (London).
