Welcome Week Walk 3: Ivybridge Circular

Meet Time: at 09:15 outside the entrance to Exeter St. David's train station Length and rating: 8.0 miles (moderate), terrain - moderate (moorland) Public Transport: Please purchase a 09:26 off-peak open return to Ivybridge, this can be done online e.g. gwr.com, on the GWR app, or at the station itself Dartmoor pt. 2 but this time we're headed south. An 8 mile circular hike starting from historic Ivybridge including the Two Moors / Dartmoor Way, the wooded River Erme, sights from Butterdon Hill and a few prehistoric cairns dotted around the place. Good stuff! Before the walk: Make sure to bring a packed lunch and at least 2 bottles of water, we are unable to stop en-route for food or other supplies. Remember to wear strong, sturdy hiking boots or shoes. A waterproof layer and sunscreen is also recommended, as well as an extra sweater or hat for warmth.
