About

Join us for our event of simulation scenarios and an informative talk about working for MSF! MSF or 'Doctors Without Borders' carry out life saving work in areas affected by famine, natural disasters, conflict, and epidemics. They provide impartial medical care to those most in need. They are currently providing essential aid in 75 countries including Palestine, South Sudan, The Democratic Republic of Congo, and Ukraine. This engaging course will take you through three scenarios in the QUB, fully equipped Intersim suite. Scenarios will simulate work as a doctor with MSF in a variety of emergency situations in low resource settings. Each scenario will offer students the opportunity to get a taste of the work MSF does and will include a full debrief. A talk will also be given on the challenging work that MSF does and how to get involved with their work. Topics include: selection criteria for staff with MSF, logistics when deployed, and the types of interventions MSF do. It aims to educate students on how they can begin to prepare their CVs to work with the organisation. Students with an interest in working for MSF, those looking to improve their skills in OSCEs, and anybody interested in MSF should attend with an open mind to get the most benefit from our course! If you have any questions about the course or our society please feel free to contact us at [email protected] or by messaging our Instagram page at friendsofmsf_qub. We look forward to seeing you there!
