Freedom Soc 2nd Term Black Tie Poker Evening

Dear Freedom friends and patriots, You are cordially invited to attend our second termly black-tie poker evening of the year in the snazzy Bootleggers cocktail bar. Like before, the dress code will be STRICTLY BLACK TIE, and £5 CASH will be required IN ADDITION TO your purchasing of a ticket on FIXR as buy-in for the evening. Additional buy-ins for those ejected from the game early on will be allowed mid-way through play. This term's poker evening will be different for three reasons: firstly, the Committee have elected to begin the game at 7pm rather than 8pm, to avoid a desperate rush at the end. Secondly, and most unfortunately, there will be no £300 bar tab this time. We got you out of the Ship and Pelican - buy your own bloody drinks for a change! And thirdly it will not have escaped your attention that this poker evening is occurring in the middle of the term rather than at the end, as last term. We thought this best as we all have exams and deadlines towards the end of the term, and also we all run out of money at the end of the term as well. After an evening of exhilarating gambling, it's doubtless that a troop of our splendidly adorned members will make their way to some dimly-lit noisy hole resembling the Mos Eisley Cantina somewhere in town to either drown their sorrows or splash away their winnings. £5 cash buy-in from 30 members will mean a pot of at least £150, the bulk of which being won by the victor, but smaller prizes will be afforded to second and third place. I have no doubt that this term's poker evening will be even more successful than last term's. See you there!
