EUSRC Golf Day

Welcome to the 2024 EUSRC Golf Day. It is our pleasure to invite our members and guests to this great occasion. Whatever your golfing level, we are organizing activities to bring this academic year to an enjoyable end. Ticket transfers will be disabled at the end of May and tickets could go off sale at any time, so please buy asap. Most importantly, please read the following description for details and requirements: Location - Dawlish Warren Golf Club Transport - Train from Exeter Stations to Dawlish Warren Train Station or you can drive Time - Monday 3rd June. First tee off at 11:30. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before. Price - £42 for members and £45 for non-members. Members are permitted to bring up to three guests. A lunch-only option is available specifically upon request. What's included - 18 holes of golf and lunch afterward. Nearest to the pin and longest drive competitions included. Preliminary Competition format - Individual Stableford format with a better ball Stableford format for groups. Players will be limited to a playing handicap of 36 regardless of ability. Equipment required - As required by the club, each player is required to have their own set of clubs in individual bags (no sharing allowed). We may be able to find 2 hire sets, however this is unlikely. Minimum Standard - As a minimum, all players should have played at least one full 18-hole round before. Whilst we do not want to limit too strictly on ability, the club requires all participants to understand the basic golfing etiquette, including but not exclusively, pace of play, non-damage requirements, and golfing conduct. A world handicap index of 36 should be a rough, non-binding guide. Please just be honest with yourself and us regarding this. Alternative - We are also organizing a golfing lesson/session for people who are not confident with their ability to meet the requirements for the 18 holes. Depending on numbers, a lesson will likely be provided on the range, putting greens, and possibly on the course. This is unlikely to last the full duration of the round, so we will provide additional details as we learn more. For this option, golf clubs will not be required. Please select this option on the FIXR event. Clothing - A minimum of a collared shirt is required (sporting polos are fine). Tailored trousers or shorts are required (no jeans or tracksuits). Smart skirts are also acceptable. Members of Dawlish Warren - Please contact us if you are already a member at Dawlish Warren Golf Club. I will contact them if required to ask if you're only required to pay for the meal.
