Enjoy an outstanding musical evening with a breathtaking programme of Chopin's piano masterpieces in the stunning candlelit setting of St Mary Le Strand.  Featuring renowned concert pianist Caroline Clipsham, this is guaranteed to be a musical evening to remember!  A complimentary champagne reception is included from 30mins before the 8pm start. Pianist Caroline Clipsham Programme - All Frederic Chopin Waltz in E minor (posthumous) Berceuse Op.57 Etudes Op.10 No.12 “Revolutionary” Op.10 No.3 “L’Adieu” Waltz in C sharp minor Op.64 No.2 Nocturnes Op.9 No.1 and Op.9 No.2 Ballade Op.23 No.1 Prelude in D flat Op.28 No.15. “Raindrop” Grande Valse Brilliante Op.18 About Caroline  Clipsham From Australia to the Arctic Circle, she has been described as “a delight to ear and eye”, and as having “a wicked sense of humour which adds to the enjoyment of her playing.” Caroline studied at Chethams School of Music, and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. After completing both her degree course and a post-graduate course in Advanced Solo Studies, she was awarded a scholarship to attend the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada, where she worked with John Perry, Gilbert Kalish and Anton Kuerti and performed extensively both as a soloist and a chamber musician. She has performed at various music festivals around the world including the Orford Arts Festival in Quebec, the European Arts Festival in Germany, Brighton Festival and Guildford International Music Festival in the UK. Caroline has also made a documentary for Carlton Television which featured her playing Chopin’s original piano. She has performed at the Wigmore Hall and St. John’s, Smith Square, and Kings Place in London, the National Concert Hall, Dublin; the International Holland Music Sessions and also in South Africa, Europe, Canada ,New Zealand, and she has toured Eastern Europe with cellist Orfeo Mandozzi.  She gave a highly acclaimed Schubert recital as part of Opera de Bauge’s 2019 Schubertiad, which the artistic director described as “the high point of our Schubertiad. She gave a fiercely intelligent and delicately beautiful interpretation of 5 impromptus and her account of the Sonata in A minor was masterly and elegant” Caroline has undertaken two successful tours of Bangladesh, as a Dhaka Classics artist, where she gave concerts for Embassies and Ambassadors as well as local schools. She has recorded a solo piano CD and DVD, and has also recorded for ORF (Austrian National Radio). She has worked with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Ulster Orchestra for BBC Radio 3 and has played for Cherie Blair, the Emir of Qatar, the Duchess of Gloucester and the F A Cup!
