What better way to spend your Monday night than with a whole lot of laughter 🤣 Get ready for your brand new comedy night, held right here at your very own Students' Union! 😅👀🤦‍♂️ (Also open to non-LSE students - so bring your friends!) THE LINE-UP: RIA LINA As seen on Mock The Week (BBC Two), multi-award winning comic Ria Lina performs at iconic venues across the UK and internationally. “Fearless, provocative and very funny” (The Scotsman), Ria is known for her incredibly sharp, pithy comedy, recognised by the EMMA Comedy award, the Greater Manchester Fringe award for Best Comedy Show, and more. With a PhD in Virology under her belt, it’s not only Ria’s comedy that’s highly intelligent! CHARLIE GEORGE Charlie George is an award-winning stand-up comedian and writer. A talented and accomplished writer, Charlie was chosen to join Charlie Brooker’s writers’ room for Cunk & Other Humans on 2019 and AntiViral Wipe (both for BBC Two), plus Death to 2020 for Netflix. She has written for Channel 4’s Alternative Election Night, E4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats, BBC Two’s Frankie Boyle’s New World Order and BBC Radio 4’s Newsjack and The Now Show. Charlie was recently selected out of 3,700 writers for the Penguin Write Now editorial programme to write her first autofiction book Door to Door. DAMAN BAMRAH Max Turner finalist Daman Bamrah is one of the most exciting and unique new comic voices to emerge from the London circuit. Daman is known for his topical writing, acute observations and imaginative storytelling. A British-Sikh performer with energy, raw wit and heart, Daman is known for his topical writing, acute observations and imaginative storytelling. His blend of carefully crafted jokes along with his signature charm have already secured him top spots at the country’s leading venues including Angel Comedy Club, Up The Creek and The Museum of Comedy. RUSSELL HICKS Anarchic, unbridled and unfiltered. Russell Hicks is a risk-taking comic whirlwind, captivating audiences everywhere with his razor-sharp wit. From the moment he steps on stage crowds are hooked by his infectiously rebellious personality and unapologetic style as he delivers entirely original comedy content right there in front of your eyes. Indisputably talented, there’s no comic quite like Russell Hicks. Quick warning guys! This is a comedy night, and we all know how comedians can be sometimes 🙈😂 Some of the content featured in the set may wander into unchartered territory so please attend/purchase tickets at your own discretion. Doors: 7pm Show-start: 7.30pm Please note, no entry will be granted for latecomers. We encourage you to take a COVID-19 test before attending, and please feel free to wear a mask. If you have any symptoms of Covid-19 or suspect that you may have Covid-19 or have been exposed to it please do not come onto campus to protect other students and our staff.
