About

Lengoland heads north of the border for the very first time, bringing their exciting brand of bass raves to the Cowgate - and providing us with one of the meatiest line ups in Church history. Room 1 (Lengoland presents): Notion Skelecta Dr Cryptic + TBA Room 2: Grahma Gouranga & Gusteau The story behind Lengoland is quite something. What started out as five friends sharing music production ideas with each other in a private Facebook group less than two years ago has fast developed into one of the most identifiable dance music brands in the country today. Countless WIPs, merch runs, memes and success stories later, the group remains one of the most active and supportive communities in the business, and exemplifies just how powerful a tool social media can be when it comes to clubbing culture. The team behind the movement have already curated line ups in clubs and arenas up and down the country, with highlights including appearances at fabriclondon, Lakota - Bristol and The Official Bassline Festival, and for their Scottish debut they’re serving up a triple headline billing - the kind of which has never before been seen in the capital. :: Notion :: To those familiar with the current UK bass music scene, Notion needs little in the way of an introduction. His productions continue to confound expectation and his reputation as one of the most consistent artists in the game speaks for itself. His knack of composing hard hitting anthems that still remain fundamentally listenable is virtually unrivalled, and we’re delighted to be welcoming him back within our walls for this one. :: Skelecta :: London-based producer Skelecta leans towards the grittier, more sophisticated end of the bass music spectrum. A regular on Marcus Nasty’s Rinse FM show, he’s enjoyed collaborations with key players like Distinkt, Hybrid Theory and most recently none other than Notion himself - and is carving himself out a classy niche, where musicality and artistry are held paramount. :: Dr Cryptic :: Chip Butty Records owner and bassline wizard Dr Cryptic completes the billing. The doctor's sound is as flexible as they come, and it’s this sense of unpredictability that makes his sets so exhilarating. Production-wise, he references the old-school bassline sound of his home town Sheffield, injecting it with unmistakable Cryptic-ness along the way. We’ve been a fan of his work since day one and certainly feel his Edinburgh debut is long overdue. Tickets are live. Please be advised that due to the nature of this event, we expect these to be extremely hot property. ☨
