After a brief hiatus we’re back in Bristol and this time around we’re teaming up with one of the mightiest forces in dubstep, System:Sound. Craftsmanship, unity, culture. These are the three strongest frequencies that resonate through every role V.I.V.E.K plays in UK bass music and contemporary dub culture: Artist, label owner, deep-drawing world-touring selector and the man behind one of London’s most important dances, SYSTEM. Therefore it is with much honour that we team up with System to bring you a dance in Bristol with some of 140’s finest selectors. Up first, the man behind the magic V.I.V.E.K himself, A student of eminent systems such as Aba Shanti and Jah Shaka, he has a total respect to the culture’s rich heritage. This is evident in all his operations from his vast dot-joining line-ups that span from dub to jungle to the way he values and celebrates music on his highly collectable vinyl-only imprint System Music. Next up is a special guest of monstrous proportions, more details on that soon but it’s a big un. Flying over from Berlin we have Bukez Finezt; one of the finest producers making music today, responsible for some of the biggest dubstep anthems of the decade. With production boasting weighty low end and a true understanding of how music should sound in a club space, we are beyond gassed to see the precise DJing masterclass he brings every time. Next up we have Joe Nice, one of the most sought after DJs on the worldwide dubstep circuit. The Gourmet Beats boss is universally praised for consistently curating some of the finest releases across the 140bpm spectrum, providing a harbour for some of the genre's finest upcoming prospects. This set isn’t one you’re going to want to miss. Rounding off the lineup we have System stalwart, Quest. Known for delivering high energy sets and productions over 10+ years, he is a true veteran amongst dubstep's originals. With his new imprint - Innerverse - overseeing a number of heavy-duty releases in its early days it’s easy to see that Quest isn’t going to let up for a minute at this one.
