The Cellar Southside

About

Miriam, Matt and Marcus are a trio of, mostly local, jazz musicians who will be bringing a taste of old school, smooth jazz to The Cellar. Miriam Elwell-Sutton (vocals) has performed in musicals all over the world including Mamma Mia, Chicago and We Will Rock You. She currently resides in Glasgow, singing with various groups most notably the RSNO Big Band and The Nighting Gals, acting in tv and theatre and running her own Kids Musical Theatre school Showkids. Matt Gough is a trumpeter, composer, educator and recent resident of Glasgow. Matt has been part of several commercial, jazz and contemporary projects as well as leading his own ensembles and education workshops on improvisation. Since moving to Scotland in August 2017 Matt has been performing as a sideman on the Glasgow and Edinburgh jazz scenes as well as working as a jazz ambassador for the National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Scotland. Next year he looks forward to releasing the debut album and short film from The Forgotten Fairground, a contemporary music, dance and film company which Matt created and is the director of.' Marcus Ford is one of Scotland’s most accomplished solo guitarists. He has played at some of the most prestigious venues in Scotland including Edinburgh and Stirling Castles, Hopetoun House, One Devonshire Gardens, Balbirnie House, Former Royal Yacht Britannia, The Balmoral and Gleneagles Hotel. Internationally he has performed in Italy, Germany and four trips to China.
