Oxford University Media Society Launch : Jon Snow

We are delighted to welcome the revered Channel 4 News broadcaster and journalist Jon Snow to launch the OUMS. Join us for a discussion with Jon and our Senior Member and former editor of The Guardian, Alan Rusbridger. Jon Snow joined ITN in 1976 and became Washington Correspondent in 1984. Since then, he has travelled the world to cover the news – from the fall of the Berlin Wall and the release of Nelson Mandela, to Barack Obama's inauguration and the earthquake in Haiti. His many awards include the Richard Dimbleby Bafta award for Best Factual Contribution to Television (2005), and Royal Television Society awards for Journalist of the Year (2006) and Presenter of the Year (2009). 5:30pm, Friday, 27 April 2018 (Wk 1) Simpkins Lee Theatre, Lady Margaret Hall A drinks reception will follow the event. *** Prior to, and on the evening, we will be offering a discounted price of £15 for life membership.
