Robin Elias: Managing Editor of ITV News

Robin Elias is the current Managing Editor of ITV News having joined ITV in 1980 as a scriptwriter, and then subsequently as a programme editor. Starting off as a local newspaper reporter in Surrey, Robin spent his earlier years in Fleet Street, the then heart of print journalism in London. There he worked for the Press Association and then the London Evening News as a sub-editor before its collapse in 1980. After this Robin moved into TV journalism at ITV, and there he has led and ran the coverage of many of the most defining moments of the turn of the century, such as the death of Princess Diana, and the attacks on the World Trade Centre. Currently he leads the news programmes the on ITV 1 and ITV News channels, which includes fixed events such as general elections.
