SEND IT is a pure distance casting competition. No fish, no luck, no weather excuses. Every angler gets the same sinker, the same field and three casts to prove what they can do.
The longest send of the day takes the cash. R10,000 guaranteed, and every entry grows it.

Prizes
The longest cast of the day takes the cash pot. R10,000 is guaranteed regardless of turnout, and it grows as entries come in:
Under 150 entries: R10,000
150 to 199 entries: R15,000
200 or more entries: R25,000
Plus class winner prizes and a full prize table of tackle from our partners. There is a live prize draw at prize giving, so everyone on the field has a shot at something.
Why we are doing this
A portion of every entry goes to the Vang Hulle Foundation, which puts tackle into the hands of anglers who cannot afford it and supports coastal communities along the Western Cape. Every person who enters is putting a rod in someone else's hands.
Bring the family
Spectators are free, juniors cast for nothing, and there is space to make a day of it. Chairs, gazebos welcome.
Prize eligibility
The cash prize for the longest cast of the day is open to paid entrants in the Open Multiplier, Open Fixed Spool and Ladies classes only. Junior entrants aged 16 and under enter free and compete in the Junior class for Junior class prizes. A junior who wants to compete for the cash prize may enter an Open class by paying the standard adult entry instead. Anglers may enter one class only.

Age and supervision
Entry is open to anglers of all skill levels. Entrants aged 16 and under must register for a free junior ticket and be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the event. Proof of age may be requested at registration.
Gear and safety
All entrants must complete gear inspection before casting. A shock leader is compulsory. Practice sinkers only, no hooks or sharpened terminal tackle. Entrants must remain behind the casting line and follow marshal instructions at all times. Failure to do so will result in disqualification and removal from the field.
Competition
Entrants cast in one class only, nominated at registration. Class transfers are not permitted on the day. Marshals' decisions on measurement, foot faults and disqualification are final. Prizes are awarded at prize giving and must be claimed in person.
General
Entry is at the entrant's own risk. Vang Hulle and De Beers AFC accept no liability for personal injury, loss or damage to property. Entrants consent to being photographed and filmed for promotional use. No refunds. Tickets may be transferred until 14 November 2026. Entries transfer to the reserve date if the event is postponed. A full refund applies only if the event is cancelled outright with no reserve date offered.
