The dream is finally within reach.
For years, The House has been more than a group of friends, lovers, partners, metamours and chosen family.
It has been a dream.
A dream of land. Of space. Of building something together. A place where chosen family could put down roots, where mornings might begin with coffee on the stoep, dinner could come from the garden, and the people you love might live just a little closer than a forty-minute drive through traffic.
There have been endless conversations. Fundraisers. Spreadsheets. Plans. Compromises. More spreadsheets.
And now, somehow, they have done it.
Enough money has been raised to buy the land.
Tonight, at the local dungeon that has become the social heart of The House, the champagne is cold, the future harvest is already being imagined, and everyone has gathered to celebrate.
There will be bubbles. There will be beautiful people dressed for the occasion. There will be snacks inspired by the life they hope to build: vegetables from our future land, fruit from our future orchard, and perhaps a bottle or two raised to the first imaginary vintage.
For one glorious evening, everyone can almost believe that the dream has already come true.
Almost.
Because years of fundraising, labour, shifting relationships, changing dynamics and quiet compromises have left their mark.
Some people have given more than others. Some have been promised things that others know nothing about. Some have worked tirelessly to build the dream. Some arrived only once it began to look possible. And some are beginning to wonder whether the future they helped create still has a place for them at all.
Tonight should be a celebration.
Before it is over, someone will be dead.
The House: An Immersive Social Mystery is an evening of secrets, relationships, ambition, gossip, suspicion and murder, created especially around the wonderfully complicated world of non-monogamous community.
You do not need acting experience. You do not need to arrive with a character prepared. And you do not need to spend the entire evening interrogating suspects with a notebook unless that sounds like enormous fun.
Some guests will find themselves closer to the heart of the story. Others will investigate, follow the gossip, compare stories, uncover secrets, form theories or simply watch the beautiful disaster unfold around them.
Participation exists on a spectrum.
But everyone is invited into The House.
The question is whether everyone was ever truly invited into its future.
Dress Code: Elegant Cocktail Celebration
Think dark glamour, velvet, lace, sharp tailoring, cocktail dresses, dramatic accessories and your own interpretation of dressing for a very important celebration.
Raise a glass to chosen family.
Raise a glass to the dream.
Raise a glass to the future.
Just be very careful which glass you choose.
