TCD Teddy Bear Hospital 2023

We are delighted to be back again with an even bigger and better Teddy Bear Hospital, on Saturday May 6th, 2023, in the Sports Centre, Trinity College Dublin, Dublin 2. Teddy Bear Hospital is an interactive and educational event to raise money for Bumbleance while making hospital more BEAR-able for kids and teddies alike. We aim to promote the foundations of a healthy lifestyle by removing the fear around going to the doctor or dentist, by performing a checkup on Teddy, allowing children to become comfortable with the different sights, sounds and equipment used in hospital and medical settings. Teddy Bear Hospital is run by medical students from Trinity College Dublin. Donations for Bumbleance will be gratefully received on the day, alternatively, you can donate by purchasing a "Donation" for a value of your choosing. This year there is a fee of €2 per ticket or €5 for a family ticket (3+ children), to help cover the cost of running this event, so that all funds raised can go directly to Bumbleance. We'll have practical stations, where we'll learn how to X-Ray Teddy and look at their bones, and maybe even fix them up if they've gotten hurt. Our young trainees will learn how to listen to Teddy's hearts and lungs, and will leave as a fully qualified Teddy Doctor! This year, we will have a Teddy Emergency Department, where teddies who have had a recent injury can be stitched up by our expert Teddy Surgeons. We'll also have arts and crafts, music, dancing and sports stations, so there really is something for everyone. A Special Sensory Session will be held at 3pm for children who prefer a quieter environment with less stimulation. We ask that parents stay with their children at all times.
