It's been 6 years since we started this night and 6 sold out nights since we took over the Junction for the first time in 2021. As a birthday treat, we have stacked this line-up with some of the biggest and best electronic music has to offer. We'll be welcoming back Ross From Friends to the city for the first time in 6 years, supported by Cambridge's very own unstoppable force in Anish Kumar, and a very special Room 2 takeover by Dual Monitor. ► Over 1000 people dancing between two rooms and a light and sound system to match; you know the drill. Grab those tickets quick before they go. ******************************************** ► Acclaimed British producer and DJ Ross From Friends (AKA Felix Clary Weatherall) has been a stalwart of the electronnic music scene since he shot to fame in 2016. His highly anticipated recent single, ‘The One’, is a perfect example of this signature craftsmanship in emotive storytelling. Combining bouncy two-step rhythms and euphoric soaring synths, his tracks pulse with percussive, rhythmic energy, whilst pulling at your heart strings at the same time. An artist who demonstrates an ever-increasing mastery of his craft, the precision of his production allows him to create music that is at once sleek and melodic but also eminently danceable, nostalgic but brilliantly modern, with nods to sounds and styles that are not so much reflected but refracted and recontextualised through Clary Weatherall’s lens. We cannot wait to see him light up the Junction. ► Anish Kumar has had an unstoppable past couple years. A slew of releases from the Cambridge student, including his debut mixtape "A mixtape by Anish Kumar" and recent EPs 'In Sri Lanka' and 'Bollywood Super Hits!' have led to co-signs from the likes of Four Tet, Daphni, Bonobo, Danny Howard and Pete Tong. He has appeared at Dialled In, Four Tet's All-Dayer and Field Day, and is consistently appearing on billings across major cities and clubs, including The Warehouse Project and Printworks. Influenced by a variety of genres, namely northern soul, disco, doo-wop and the production of Bicep and Four Tet, Kumar's sets have become one to watch across clubs and festivals alike. His work is gratifyingly hard to categorise with its melodic, anthemic production coupled with synths that nestle deeply into the groove. Anish Kumar is influenced by the culture around him, incorporating sounds from around the world while experimenting with melodies and songwriting. We couldn't be happier to be bringing him back to the Junction. ► We are incredibly excited to announce Dual Monitor as our Special Guest. The Liverpool/Bristol based production & DJ duo launched in Spring 2022 and have been on a meteoric rise ever since. The duo kicked off 2023 with a breakout set at Boiler Room Liverpool, supporting Mall Grab, Kettama and Eliza Rose. They have since brought their unstoppable energy and talented, genre-spanning selections to Glastonbury, Gottwood, The Love Inn, Meraki, Old Market Assembly, Avalon and many more + multiple guest shows for Rinse FM, including a livestream for Rinse x EC2A at Night Tales.
