Based in Cape Town, NALA Collective is made up of gifted young musicians currently studying jazz at the University of Cape Town. Drawing inspiration from the rich legacy of South African jazz alongside contemporary global influences, they create music that is soulful, groove-driven, deeply expressive, and unmistakably their own.
Their performances blend soaring vocal harmonies, powerful horn arrangements, infectious African rhythms, and exhilarating improvisation, taking audiences on an unforgettable musical journey. Every performance is a celebration of youthful artistry, sisterhood, and the limitless possibilities of the next generation of women in jazz.
Already making waves on Cape Town's live music scene, NALA Collective has performed to enthusiastic audiences at sold-out shows at Selective Live and Queens Lounge, while also appearing at festivals including Commons Fest and Heat Festival.
