PLEASE NOTE REVISED TIMINGS Rockers, grab your sailor hats and join us for this special nautical edition of An Afternoon of Rock as we Rock The Boat and cruise along the East London Waterways dancing to all your fave rock and metal hits with your fellow head-banging shipmates. Also, Rock Gods Metallica are playing the London Stadium (right opposite where we set sail) so it could provide you with the perfect little pre-party for any of you might be going to the gig. Setting off from right in front of the London Stadium, we'll be sailing along the canals of the Stratford Waterways via Hackney Wick, Lee Valley and back on land for 4:30pm so any gig-goers can run to the gig in time fort the opening act, currently being advertised as 5pm stage time (With Pantera on at 6pm, and Metallica 7:30pm) Whether you're going to the gig or not, come and rock with us. There will be A fully stocked bar on board for you to buy drinks. **As with every other An Afternoon of Rock event this is strictly for over 30s only. Photo ID MUST be produced, even if you have purchased an advance ticket!** The Rock Boat will depart from Stratford Waterfront Pontoon, Queen Elizabeth Park, which is directly opposite the London Stadium where Metallica are playing. (A map will be emailed to all ticket holders a few days before the event, but meet up is on the waterfront directly in front of the new East Bank development of the UAL, V&A, BBC and Sadlers Wells buildings) Follow the postcode to E20 2AR and 'Aquatics Walk' and look for the boats parked up. They're next to the novelty Swan Boats if that helps? 1pm - Meet Time (please arrive in good time to board as the boat will be setting sail at 1:30pm regardless of latecomers) 1:30pm-4:30pm - Sailing / Rock Party Time! 4:30pm-6pm - Rock out in the sunshine on the wharf, or stay on the boat as we continue to party and play more rock hits A few rules to highlight: - Boat sails at 1:30pm prompt please be there well in advance, late-comers cannot be jet-skiied over.
