About

SolidariTee is delighted to invite you to our upcoming panel event, which is being organised in order to create a space for discussion about the ways in which we can better uphold the rights and freedoms of people forced to flee their homes as a result of their sexual orientation or gender identity (SOGI). We will be joined by 4 expert speakers, each providing a different perspective across the following themes: - The barriers faced by those seeking asylum on the basis of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity, both here in the UK and in Europe - The interface between the fight for LGBTIA+ rights in the UK and Europe and the fight for refugee rights - The ways in which we can all come together to support fundamental rights for all, and combat harmful myths that link refugees with increased homophobia. We suggest a £2.50 donation to attend the event, which includes a glass of Prosecco during the reception which will follow the panel talk. To confirm your place, please follow the link below, or email [email protected] if you would like to reserve a free ticket instead. You can also opt to add a donation to SolidariTee onto the price of your ticket, or a t-shirt (all proceeds go directly to funding NGOs providing legal and psychological aid for refugees and asylum seekers in Greece). We'll also be selling SolidariTees at the event.
