About

Doors 7.00 - Members 6.45 The lure of the road has always been a defining force for Nashville-based, New Zealand-born singer-songwriter Jackie Bristow. She took her first musical steps in Gore, in New Zealand's South Island, honed her craft in the pubs and clubs of Sydney, and ultimately found her voice in the United States, where she has built a reputation as a soulful, seductive independent recording artist and captivating live performer. Like Joni Mitchell, Shawn Colvin, and Bonnie Raitt, Jackie has created a body of work defined by finely shaded songs that are both deeply personal and quietly universal. Noted critic Chet Flippo called her work "hypnotizing," declaring that "not many writers in any musical genre give the attention and depth to lyrics that Bristow obviously does." The Nashville Scene praised her for blending "Neil Finn's airy pop smarts with Patty Griffin's emotional directness," while Stuff noted she "commands attention through purposeful understatement" — an artist who knows "a whisper has as much effect as a scream." Much of her catalog has been recorded with her long-time musical partner, Australian-born guitarist and producer Mark Punch. American Songwriter has praised Jackie for "crafting some of the most beautiful, compelling Americana today." Her restless wanderlust informs five previous albums: Thirsty (2002), Crazy Love (2007), Freedom (2010), Shot of Gold(2015), and Outsider (2022). Now, her sixth album, Goldmine, signals an uplifting commercial breakthrough, expanding Jackie's Americana roots into a more accessible, melody-driven sound while staying true to her storytelling core. A powerful reconnection appears on the album's lead single, "Let It Rain" — a first-ever recorded duet with Jackie's sister Katrina Bristow. Since its release, the single has hit national rotation on iHeartCountry NZ and ABC Country Australia, earned Apple Music editorial support and is building momentum on US radio — confirmation that Goldmine is ready for a bigger stage. Over two decades of relentless touring across the United States, New Zealand, and Europe, Jackie has earned the respect of some of music's most enduring names. Personally invited back to tour with Bonnie Raitt, Boz Scaggs, Chris Isaak, and Tommy Emmanuel - a rare distinction that speaks to the regard her peers hold for her - she has also shared stages opening for The Steve Miller Band, Art Garfunkel, Foreigner, Bettye LaVette and many others. Jackie loves the stage, and her music has also found a home on screen, earning its place in some of television's most compelling series — Euphoria, Young Sheldon, Kevin Can F**k Himself, and The Brokenwood Mysteries, among others "I'm not 25 anymore," she says. "I've got the experience — in life and in the industry. I love writing songs and performing, and I always want to keep the innocence alive." The road beckons again.
