Heavy Resonance Fest

For the very first time, we’re bringing together a day of heavy music from across the UK - and beyond - right here in Chesterfield. Hailing from Belgium, Cowboys & Aliens make their first ever UK appearance. Formed in Bruges in 1996, these stoner rock veterans are true pioneers of the genre, bringing decades of experience, huge riffs and groove-laden desert rock to Chesterfield. Mighty doomsters Famyne arrive from Canterbury with their unmistakable brand of doom metal. Slow, heavy and haunting. Birmingham's Alunah bring their own hypnotic blend of psychedelic doom and stoner metal. One for the groovers. Nottingham's Tomb Slab bring the filth. Their blackened sludge pulls together crushing doom riffs, abrasive vocals, and huge low-end. Birmingham's Slump keep things dirty and groove-heavy, combining desert rock, sludge and groove metal into a thick, riff-driven sound. From Buckinghamshire, Verminthrone bring their self-described sludgecore - a punishing collision of sludge, groove metal, hardcore and doom. And representing Chesterfield, Fools & Sages bring something altogether different: ethereal alt-metal. Atmospheric vocals, powerful guitar work and dynamic rhythms give their sound a more melodic and dreamlike edge without losing the weight. Seven bands. One day. One stage. A celebration of the musicians, venues and people who keep original heavy music alive. But Heavy Resonance Fest is about more than the music. We want to create something that gives back to the community around us, which is why we're proud to be supporting The Peak District Foundation, with a donation from the festival going towards their work protecting and supporting the Peak District and the communities within it.
