The book explores the pre-rave era of dance music, spanning the ‘60s through until the mid-80s via its four main sections – Classic DJs, Classic Labels, Classic Venues and Classic Records. Jive Turkey preceded rave, then ushered it in, and is one of the book’s Classic Venues, illuminating the pioneering roles Winston & Parrot played in UK club culture.
