Freed Mushaga

This evening celebrates the moving blend of sounds created by Freed Mushaga, combining AfroSoul, African folk, jazz and contemporary African pop, rooted in the musical traditions of Bukavu and steeped in the African storytelling tradition. Expect warm acoustic textures, profound and contemplative compositions, infectious rhythms and Freed’s smooth, expressive vocal energy: music that is both spiritually immersive and delicately uplifting, inviting you to listen, feel and move. For this special debut concert in Cape Town, Freed will be accompanied by Cape Town-based musicians Vuyo Nkasawe, Benji Anstey and Timothy Fortes, who will bring their own musical flair to an intimate collaborative performance.
