Informed Consent- Best practice in Storytelling with Chance for Childhood

About

Join us for this training session focusing on informed consent and ethical storytelling. Gaining consent isn't just about asking to use images and photos, it involves thinking about how we represent people in the stories we tell on our websites, in donor reports and elsewhere. Vicky Ferguson will talk about the importance of having full conversations when gaining consent, data protection and the ethics of how we portray and protect people. Come along and take part in this important and insightful discussion. This 90 minute online workshop will strengthen your safeguarding practice, ensure your organisation stays relevant to current sector best practice and offer ideas on how to strengthen organisational cultures of consent. About Vicky Ferguson: Vicky Ferguson is the Head of Safeguarding, Training and Learning for Chance for Childhood (CfC), an INGO working in Africa to support vulnerable children. She focuses on supporting CfC and their partners to develop robust and inclusive safeguarding practices, policies and procedures. She also oversees all the training Chance for Childhood delivers on Inclusion and facilitates a Community of Practice for Partners. Before moving into 'International Development', Vicky worked with children and young people in the UK in both the Third and Public Sector. She worked predominantly within Homeless and Substance Misuse Services but has also spent time supporting young people in generic Youth Services.
