After 2.5 years of financial support from the Cambridge Centre for Music Performance, we're transitioning to full financial independence. This is a natural step for any established society—and necessary to sustainably continue the activities our community values. Membership fees allow us to: • Purchase and maintain instruments (harmonium, tabla, tanpura, and more) • Book concert venues and sound equipment • Host workshops with guest artists • Fund social events and gatherings • Apply for university grants (which require membership) Member Benefits Governance & Voice • Voting rights at AGMs • Eligibility to run for committee positions • Input on society programming Priority Access • Priority for performance opportunities in concerts • Early access and some discounts on event tickets • Priority booking for rehearsal spaces and instruments • Access to funding for external music workshops • Expense coverage when representing the society Commitment to Transparency We will always be transparent about how membership fees are used to sustain the society's activities by: • Publishing annual financial reports showing exactly how funds are used and how membership revenue contributes to the overall budget • Incorporating feedback on how to improve membership • Prioritizing support for activities you participate in Financial accessibility: If the membership fee presents a barrier, contact us confidentially at [email protected].
