About

Join us in the HMR to hear Shon Faye discuss her experiences as a trans author and activist in the UK, as well as her new and bestselling book: the Transgender Issue. Shon Faye is a prominent trans writer in the UK, who published her debut book The Transgender Issue this year. She was an editor-at-large at Dazed and has written for The Guardian, The Independent, VICE, n+1, Attitude, Verso and others. The Transgender Issue is a landmark work that signals the beginning of a new, healthier conversation about trans life. It is a manifesto for change, and a call for justice and solidarity between all marginalized people and minorities. Trans liberation, as Faye sees it, goes to the root of what our society is and what it could be; it offers the possibility of a more just, free and joyful world for all of us. Proof of a negative LFD in the last 48 hours will be required on entry (NHS email or text) and all participants are required to wear masks (unless exempt). Social distancing is advised. For attendance online, check out our FB event for the zoom link! Open only to members of Oxford University and Oxford Brookes. If you have any questions, please contact Queer Week's organisers on fb.
