About

Steam Radio’s 1st Birthday Bash! Friday October 29th we are celebrating the Radio’s first Birthday with a line up of friends, family and very special guests! Since building the studio space upstairs during the pandemic, Steam Radio has become a home for local artists to come and showcase their talent! From DJ sets to MCs and talk shows we’re so proud to have made it this far and can't wait celebrate it with you all at our big 1st birthday halloween bash! ---------- DAY LINE UP: MINA & BRYTE [LIVE] We are very excited to be bringing London Afrobeat queen Mina to the Abbey alongside Ghanian vocalist Bryte for an exclusive Live set! Boko Boko and Enchufada’s Mina met Bryte in Ghana, and the pair have since toured the world showcasing their unique blend of global club sounds. The duo released their debut joint EP ‘Abeka Bugatti’ on Earth Kicks on August 20th - named after Bryte’s neighbourhood in Accra. The EP is their most accomplished project yet, and features five club-ready bangers, connecting the dots between a range of influences including gqom, funky, afrohouse and amapiano. Bryte’s multilingual lyrics about his life in Accra and London skip playfully over Mina’s upbeat and distinctive production style, demonstrating how two artists from very different backgrounds can come together to create “exuberant, passionate, forward-thinking club music that slips between two continents.” [Clash Magazine] They are bringing their full live set to Manchester as part of their upcoming tour. Be sure to bring your dancing shoes for this one! SKITTLES [LIVE] Levelz don and local legend Skittles blesses the Abbey stage with a full live band for our first birthday bash! His unrivalled spoken word delivery matches the intensity of his live shows, this is not one to be missed. AYY DEN B2B MURDER HE WROTE Canadian-born, Manchester-based AYY DEN will be tearing through a bag of UK Funky, garage, amapaino influenced beats alongside Murder He Wrote!
