0596club presents the first monthly show of 2023! We ended 2022 on a high and we are looking to continue with another banger of an event featuring the best acts from around the country! Roger O’Sullivan (Headliner) Nominated for the BBC New Comedy Award in 2021, Roger's work has been featured on BBC One, BBC Three and BBC Radio 4. His mixture of oneliners and surreal stories have drawn comparisons to Dylan Moran and Mitch Hedberg. "A comedic mind ripe with potential"-The Irish Examiner Mustafa Yasin is a funny ass guy I stg. No seriously, believe me. Please. He was nominated for the Leicster Mercury Comedian of the Year in 2020 and the BBC new comedy awards in 2022. He also won the Quantum Leopard champion of champions award in 2019 and was a runner up for Laughing Horse new act of the year in 2018. Reviews include: “Fabulous”- The Stand, Edinburgh “Still... the other judges seemed to like him”- Chortle Ollie Reyhart Ollie is a comic from London who’s known for his personal anecdotes and stories. He’s won best act at Comedy Virgins on multiple occasions and splits his time between London and New York, having performed at many iconic venues over there including The Grizly Pear, Broadway Comedy Club, Greenwich Comedy Club, The Stand and more. He’s also the host of the House of Shame Podcast. Diesel Diesel is a comic from London who is known for his laid-back style of comedy filled with his own personal struggles and triumphs. He runs his own night called The Asylum where he provides a platform for newer comics to work on their crafts. He's won Gong Shows all around London including; Top Secret, Ding Dong and 0596. Definitely one to watch. Alex kitson Alex Kitson is an “on the money funny” award-winning stand-up comedian, performer and writer. New on the comedy scene in 2018 he has performed across the UK, written for both the BBC (‘Incredible... So clever’ - BBC Radio Bristol) and online content with millions of views. He has been on bills alongside Russell Howard, Jon Richardson, Nish Kumar, Seann Walsh, Rosie Jones, Mark Watson, Russell Kane, Fin Taylor and Jayde Adams among many others and reached the final of First Laugh 2020, New UK Online Comedian of the Year 2020, and the top 12 of Jason Manford’s New Act Competition in 2019. He also performed in two five-star runs at the Edinburgh Fringe with the Bristol Revunions (‘The entire ensemble is hilarious. Properly, effortlessly, hilarious’ - EdFringe Review). He founded and was resident MC of several of Bristol’s best comedy nights including This Next Act and White Bear Comedy Club. After the pandemic, he took his first hour of stand-up around the country to critical acclaim in London, Southampton, Brighton, Exeter, Bath and Bristol. Culminating in a sell-out show in Bristol and winning the Bath Comedy Festival Award for Best Joke 2021. In 2022 he was a Finalist in Bath New Act of the Year, went full-time doing comedy, was selected to host the prestigious 2022 AAA Showcase in the Pleasance Courtyard during the Edinburgh Fringe and began regularly headlining gigs in the West Country. In September 2022 he moved to London and his debut special, filmed in June 2022, was released. Subtly might not be her strong suit but leaving you laughing definitely is.
