StorySlam at KAYA HQ We’re thrilled to announce our first SLAM! The heat is on, and we’re inviting all our best storytellers from the last month to go head to head in a competition on the Art of Storytelling. There's a particular kind of magic that happens when someone stands in front of a room of strangers and tells the truth. No script. No notes. Just a story pulled straight from their own life: messy, funny, painful, or all three at once. Over the last few weeks, we’ve been collecting our favourite storytellers - and now they go head-to-head in our first ever STORY SLAM! Each storyteller will take the stage to share true, 5 minute story and see who will be crowned the Grand Slam Yappa Yappa of the Month! Expect to laugh. Expect a lump in your throat once or twice. Expect the strange, specific catharsis that comes from hearing someone else say the thing you thought only you had felt. That's the heart of StoryJam: not performance for its own sake, but connection. The reminder that we're all carrying stories, and that telling them out loud can be its own kind of catharsis. Before the show, join us for a storytelling workshop, where you'll learn the craft behind a great five-minute story: how to find the moment that matters, shape it, and trust yourself enough to tell it live. Whether you're planning to take the stage yourself one day or simply want to sharpen how you tell stories in everyday life, the workshop is for anyone curious about the art of storytelling. StoryJam is hosted at KAYA HQ, a warm, intimate space, that makes it easy to feel like you're among friends, even before the first story begins.
