PJ Powers – Behind the Voice Songs and stories from the road Step behind the voice with PJ Powers for an intimate evening of songs, stories and memories from an extraordinary life in music. Stripped back to its heart, Behind the Voice brings PJ closer to the audience than ever before, revisiting the songs that have marked her career alongside some of the music that inspired her along the way. From Jabulani, Feel So Strong, There Is an Answer, Prayer for Peace, Sanibonani and World in Union, to personal favourites such as Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, each song comes with a story. Joining PJ throughout the evening on guitar and vocals is Andy Innes, who first worked with her in the 1990s. As the former music director and guitarist for Johnny Clegg, Andy brings his own SA music vocabulary to this intimate collaboration. Acoustic and conversational at its core, the evening builds from voice and guitar to the full energy of the songs that made PJ Powers one of South Africa’s most distinctive and enduring music icons.
