Operation Khathaza

Operation Khataza is an explosive eight-piece born in Observatory, Cape Town — a hub of restless creativity and counter-culture. Fronted by the enigmatic Farrah Khataza, the band channels the vision of singer, guitarist, and selector Sanele Blaai. Since 2023, they’ve been crafting more than music — building a movement under the banner “Sonic Liberation Across Alkebulan.” Their sound is a bold Afro-futurist fusion — Zamrock, SA jazz, kwaito, soukous, highlife, R&B, blues, and rock & roll — equal parts protest and celebration. Fresh off a ConcertsSA-backed national tour and stages shared with The Brother Moves On, their high-energy performances are known to ignite and awaken every room.
