Give it a Go: Build a Care Kit!

Join us as part of Disability History Month to create your own kit for essentials to make day to day life easier. You'll get you own zip-up bag to decorate with fabric, pens and other embellishments provided so you can personalise it, however much time you have or however fancy you'd like to make it! You can then fill your bag with a selection of toiletries, stickers, sensory and organisational aids so you have a grab bag tailored to your needs when you're on campus or out and about! Can't attend the whole event? No problem- We have split this event out into slots so that you can be confident that you have secured a space at a time that works for you! Accessibility Info: - Step-free venue - Seating Available - Accessible Toilet nearby, outside the Ram Bar - Blue Badge Parking available outside Queens' Building What to Bring: We’ll supply materials - but you can bring any small personal item you'd like to add to your kit What can I expect at an Event in this Space? - The first 15 minutes, 12:00-12:15, will be quiet time to check out the space and setup and decide if you want to take part. There are 15 minute intervals between each slot too to reset the space and give you more time to finish up- so you can check out the space during this time too, but we cannot guarantee it will be quiet! - A setup of four tables with seating around them, and beanbags in the corner if you'd prefer to sit on these. - You'll get to decorate your bag, and choose items from each table to fill it with once you're ready. - We aim to reduce sensory input from the space via lighting and playing quiet music, however there can be noise from outside and the room can get warm. We are open to adjustments such as opening or closing windows to help make you more comfortable. - We have split this event into slots so it is more comfortable moving around the space, and doesn't become too crowded.
