Freshers' Ceilidh 2026

The annual Celtic Soc Freshers’ Week Ceilidh is back! Join us to see out Freshers’ week in true Scottish style, dancing the evening away with acquaintance old and new to some amazing live music! The ceilidh runs from 7-9:30pm on Wednesday 9th September, at Boys’ Brigade Hall (KY16 8BW). Bring your friends, or come along to make new ones! Ceilidhs are all about dancing with others and having fun, no need to prepare in advance. Dress up or dress down, but please WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES you can dance in – in particular, no heels. NB: if you do come in kilt dress, we ask that you do not carry a sgian dubh. Please note that this is a sober event: if you arrive intoxicated you will not be allowed in, and alcohol is not to be consumed at the venue for the duration of the ceilidh. If you are found to be drinking alcohol you will be asked to leave and you will not be refunded. We do recommend that you bring a water bottle – You can refill your water bottle at the venue. If you arrive without having previously purchased a ticket and the venue is at capacity, we will have to turn you away. Don’t miss out – once tickets are gone, they’re gone!
