In collaboration with @unwomenukexeter , we are delighted to announce our International Women’s Day debate, which will cover the rights of women facing political persecution.
Women have been a vulnerable group to violence and oppression by political bodies in both historical and present contexts. In this debate we will explore how the United Nations Women’s Committee can work to protect the rights of these individuals. We will take a particular focus on topics such as protecting the rights of women arrested for protest.
Join us, on Tuesday, as we look into how the UN can act to protect the rights of women facing persecution
