"Wedgy are an alt-rock band based in Leeds. Rooted by fuzzy guitar tones, Wedgy weaves in electronic production techniques to define their sound. With clear nods to both post-punk and shoe-gaze, harsh tones meet ethereal synth and backing vocals lines. The tone accompanies the deep insight into internal challenges, that are represented on face value through the narrative." "The Desert Funk Ritual is a four-piece instrumental psychedelic funk band based in Leeds. The band consists of two musical pairs, each with strong and enduring musical connections: - Mike Deakin (drums) and Danny Davis (guitar), having played together for over a decade in Leeds folk-rock powerhouse “Sifaka”; and Jason Moules (guitar) and Blue Thorn (bass), also having played, toured, and recorded for years as alt-rockers “Allusondrugs/Allusinlove”. These two pairs then met when hired as the backing band for Reuben Vaun Smith in 2022. They instantly forged a strong musical connection through playing groove-oriented instrumental music, and soon developed their own sound combining instrumental grooves with guitar-driven desert blues and elements of classic jam bands - think Khruangbin meets Santana."
