Way Out West plays West Side Story and other works by Leonard Bernstein ‘Way Out West Side Story’ sees London’s landmark collective of jazz musicians re-working Leonard Bernstein's music. Tonight’s performance will consist of four horns, vocalist and a rhythm section, including the talents of Tim Whitehead, Tony Woods, Tom Millar, Nick Mills and Nette Robinson, with additional arrangements by Chris Biscoe, Pete Hurt and Kate Williams. The collective’s re-imaginings of Leonard Bernstein’s works will cast new light on his wonderful music, which the Collective first performed for the hundredth anniversary of the composer’s birth.
