The Festival of Light

Festival of Light - Join the festivities at the Norwegian Church Arts Centre ~ Come and join us for our annual Festival of Light and Friendship on Sunday 10th December 2023. This traditional pre-Christmas event is organised jointly by the Welsh Norwegian Society, the Norwegian Church Cardiff Bay Trust and the Norwegian Church venue/management. We celebrate the friendship between Wales and Norway, and try to bring light into the dark winter months by lighting the living Christmas tree outside the church. The afternoon starts with a bilingual (Norwegian and English) Carol service in the Grieg Room at 3pm by the Rev Ingrid Imms from the Norwegian Church in London. This is followed by carols from the Salvation Army band at 4pm in the marquee, then the tree lighting ceremony outside at 4:30pm. We will have greetings from representatives of our two twinned counties, and Christmas carols to join in with. Refreshments will be available in the cafe, together with live music from the Bute Quintet afterwards. “
