Swing Revs is back for 2023! Tickets are on sale! Full weekend (workshops + socials) £80 Socials for all evening £30 Socials for one evening £15 The weekend will not have streams. Instead there are topics to choose. Over the weekend each dancer can take 4 topics. 2 topics on Saturday and 2 topics on Sunday. To obtain tickets, fill out our registration form first. Swingouts* Introduction to the famous “Swing Out” dance move. Learn as a beginner or polish existing technique. Musicality* How to listen and engage with Swing music in your dancing. One session will be lead by the band “The Shirt Tail Stompers”. Rockin’ in Rhythm* Amazing dancers are those who dance with heart, they can bring something fresh and new, and they do it better, sharper with style and finesse. Part of that journey is learning to be expressive in your movement. Self-expression enables you to connect your soul to music and be innovative, creative, and unique as a dancer. Permission is given to be free and enjoy it Exploring Jam Circles* Want to get involved with Jam Circles but not sure how to? Or don’t have the confidence? This is the class for you. Roots to Routes* An exploration and experience into the motherland rhythms and its influences. A simplistic approach to the roots and routes of vernacular dance. This is about challenging the construction of what is considered as ‘standard’ and experimenting with more authentic and traditional forms. This class is about having fun and understanding more about context and culture. You Spin Me Right Round* How to improve your turns. All abilities. Helpful tips for beginners or experienced dancers. Switching Learn how to switch roles during a dance. Knowledge of basic footwork and moves for both Leading and following is necessary to attend this class. Swingout Variations Learn variations of this famous move. Ability to do a basic swing out is necessary to take this topic. Flash ‘n’ Trash Learn show stopping moves to pull out on the social dancefloor. This class requires good knowledge of basic and intermediate moves. *All topics marked with * are suitable for beginners.
