St Mary le Strand (The "Jewel" of the Strand) plays host to the second Strand International Piano Series. Further to it's launch to great acclaim in the 2022-23 season, the new series will feature all 32 of Beethoven's Piano Sonatas. He was also a major prize-winner at Harbin in China and at the New York Piano Festival, where he was invited to give his debut recital at Carnegie Hall. In the UK, Florian has given concerts at the Usher Hall – Edinburgh, Royal Concert Hall – Glasgow, Bridgewater Hall – Manchester, King’s Place and St Martin in the Fields – London, and reviewers have praised his playing as ‘absorbing and masterly’ (Edinburgh Music Review 2020), having ‘stupendous virtuosity’ (Süddeutsche Zeitung, 2017), ‘phenomenal precision throughout’ (The Herald, 2017), and presenting ‘a mixture of phenomenal technique and ravishing musical intelligence’ (The Cambridge Independent, 2018). His solo debut CD has received a 5-star review by the Piano News Magazine in Düsseldorf and was featured on BBC Radio 3 multiple times. He recorded and performed live for numerous broadcasters, including the BBC, SWR, BR, Radio France Musique, Radio Télévision Suisse and Radio Romania Muzical. Florian was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He graduated with DipRAM, the highest distinction, and is now a piano professor there. He has been appointed an Associate of the RAM and an examiner for the ABRSM. He also teaches at the Purcell School and curates his own festival in Bucharest.
