About

Back by popular demand, Self Defence classes with Karate Black Belt, Pete Read are back, and as a full four-week course. You hope it won’t happen! But if it does – you’ll be ready. And the benefits of self-defence training go well beyond being able to repel an attacker: self-confidence, resilience, reduced anxiety, greater fitness and general health… to name a few. Sanchin Self Defence is based on traditional Goju-ryu Karate. Sanchin means "three battles" in Japanese – Body, Mind and Spirit. Body: Stability, movement, escapes, strikes, throws and vital points Mind: Awareness, avoidance, decision-making and communication Spirit: Breathing, inner strength, self-belief, focus and resilience This is a full four-week course, running from 18:30 to 20:00 on the 7th, 14th &21st of June, with the last session of the 5th of July. You are able to buy a ticket to all four sessions, or to individual ones. The sessions will last 1.5 hours, and are open to all genders, all ages (18+), any fitness level. Please wear clothing you can move around in, and trainers. No jewellery (small earrings are OK).
